Work of three Guiton Street artists chosen for juried shows

Caroline Ratliff to show at Round Top Salon; Sunny McKinnon and Helene Robinson selected for VAA Exhibition

HOUSTON, Texas. (February 23, 2015) ~ The works of three artists with studios at Guiton Street in the West Loop Building have been selected will be featured in area art exhibitions. The works include:

Passages, Caroline Ratliff, Oil

• Passages by Caroline Ratliff was selected for the International Salon 2015 Competition & Exhibition at The Gallery at Round Top. The painting, a 24”x30” oil on canvas, depicts the Sabinal River at Lost Maples State Park. • Coastal Sky by Helene Robinson was chosen for the Visual Arts Alliance 32nd Juried Open Exhibition* at Williams Tower in Houston. The 24”x30” oil-on-canvas painting will be on display in the lobby at 2800 Post Oak Boulevard, beginning Wednesday, March 11 through Saturday, April 11. California Winds, Sunny McKinnon, pastel on paper

• Two pastels, California Winds, left, and Summer, by Sunny McKinnon were selected for the Visual Arts Alliance 32nd Juried Open Exhibition* at Williams Tower in Houston. California Winds is an 8.5”x11” pastel on paper; Summer is a 12”x9” pastel on paper. Both will be in the exhibition in the lobby at 2800 Post Oak Boulevard, beginning Wednesday, March 11 through Saturday, April 11. For information about the artist, visit www.mckinnonart.com.

*The 32 Juried Open Exhibition was open to Visual Arts Alliance (VAA) members and non-members. In all 598 entries were submitted by 165 artists from 17 states and one country outside the U.S. Noted independent art curator Sally Sprout selected the entries for the exhibition.

The Guiton Street Artists are representational, impressionist and abstract artists whose studios are located in the West Loop Building at 4848 Guiton Street in Houston, Texas. The studios are off Richmond and the 610 Loop.
